For ten days, 32 Save Mart stores from Modesto to Fresno collected funds for the victims of the massive Detwiler Fire near Yosemite. Donation stations enable shoppers to make contributions right at checkout to the American Red Cross fire relief efforts. The stores raised an impressive $6,352 thanks to our generous customers. It’s amazing what communities can do when people are in need.
The fire is nearly out, but it destroyed 67 residences and burned more than 81,000 acres. Crews continue to perform mop up work and watch for flare ups.
