Modesto, Calif., August 22, 2011– The plight of hospitalized children really caught the attentionof Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky, FoodMaxx, and Maxx Value Foods’ customers andemployees during the company’s annual “Helping Hands, Healing Kids” icon campaign. Thestores sold paper icons for $1.00 in July, decorating walls and doors with signed icons.Enthusiastic employees got behind the campaign, including support offices, and once again,Save Mart’s shoppers stepped up to the plate with generous support…the total raised was arecord breaking $202,231!

Times may be tough but the ease of donating at the check stand coupled with so many havingfirsthand experience with the good work of Children’s Hospitals caused shoppers andemployees alike to purchase icons in support of children in need of medical care.
