Alex Anderson Elementary School celebrated back-to-school with a supermarkets sweep hosted by San Jose FoodMaxx located on Monterey Highway.

FoodMaxx has adopted Anderson Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. To celebrate this partnership, the store hosted a supermarket sweep to provide healthy snacks for its after school programs

School representatives had the opportunity to race down the aisles to grab as many healthy snacks for their after school programs.  All product in the shopping cart was then donated to the school afterwards.

This event coincided with FoodMaxx latest announcement MaxxDrop, a new pricing initiative that lowered prices on thousands of items throughout all 54 FoodMaxx stores across California and Northern Nevada. In addition, FoodMaxx launched an app where shoppers can browse the ads, and find exclusive savings and digitalized manufacturer coupons to make sure they are getting the best prices when they reach the check-out lane.

Annually, each FoodMaxx store selects a neighboring elementary school, thought the company’s Adopt-a-School program. Throughout the year, the store supports the school with food, books and resources, bringing their commitment to ‘Nourish Community’ full circle.
