On Thursday, July 5, the FoodMaxx team presented a certificate of appreciation to Lieutenant Jeff Burdick of the Bakersfield Police Department for his dedication in keeping our communities safe.

While off-duty grocery shopping at Bakersfield FoodMaxx, Lt. Burdick stepped in and chased down an Organized Retail Crime suspect that plagued many Bakersfield FoodMaxx stores and other retailers for a number of years.  The suspect was apprehended, prosecuted and will no longer be a threat to the Bakersfield community.

“My family and I shop at this Food Maxx” said Lt. Burdick. “The store is always clean, has great prices and the employees are always friendly. We love FoodMaxx.”

As an additional thank you, the FoodMaxx team presented Lt. Burdick with a  gift card and a platter of delicious assorted cookies.

The award presentation took place at the monthly Bakersfield Law Enforcement-Retail Alliance meeting at Bakersfield Police Headquarters.  The Bakersfield Law Enforcement-Retail Alliance membership now includes over 50 retailers, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office as well as City, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies.

“The Save Mart Companies Loss Prevention Team is a driving force behind the success of this alliance” said Denver Floyd, Save Mart Senior Divisional Loss Prevention Manager.  “This partnership is making a real difference not only in our stores in Bakersfield, but retailers throughout Kern County.  We are proud to work with officers such as Lt. Burdick.”

Thank you Lt. Burdick and the Bakersfield Police Department for your dedication in keeping our communities safe!
