Hot August Nights and A Cool Summer Treat at Save Mart Supermarket

Celebrity Chefs, Classic Cars and a Limited Edition Ice Cream All Part of Grocer’s
Celebration
Modesto, Calif., July 30, The heat is on as Save Mart Supermarkets in Reno, Nevada celebrates Hot August Nights [contest over] with Hell’s Kitchen Celebrity Chef, Robert Hesse. Hesse, a fan favorite from seasons five and six of the popular Fox network show hosted by Gordon Ramsey, will be performing cooking demonstrations and interacting with customers at three Reno Save Mart stores this month (see event schedule and locations below).

Shoppers will also be able to purchase barbecue spare ribs hot off the grill of award-winning Pit Master Kim Walton www.qn4ubbqhouse.com. Walton and her late husband, Brent, have won 23 barbecue grand championships nationwide and were inducted into the California BBQ Hall of Fame.

Customers taking a break from the heat can cool off by sampling Save Mart’s Limited Edition Speedy Tracks premium ice cream, a flavor created to commemorate the Save Mart/Toyota 350 NASCAR race and the Hot August Nights classic car show. Speedy Tracks, vanilla ice cream with swirls of raspberry ribbons and solid milk chocolate race cars, features the Company’s custom hot rod grocery cart, Big Red, on its label.

Big Red, along with several classic cars and the 2012 Chevy Camaro Coupe from the grocer’s Hot August Nights Camaro Consumer Giveaway contest, will be prominently displayed at each event. Live radio remotes and a prize wheel will round out the activities.

“We are very excited about these festivities, and the opportunity to bring Chef Robert Hesse and Kim Walton together for our customers and the community,” said Director of Communications and Public Affairs Alicia Rockwell. “Hot August Nights is one of the highlights of the year in
