For the first time, The Save Mart Companies handed out Community Leadership Awards to a Store Manager under each banner. Managers were judged on how involved they were in the areas they serve. The winners were able to donate $1,000 to the non-profit of their choice.
FOODMAXX
Vince Messina, from FoodMaxx #480 in Brentwood, chose the Kids Helping Kids Foundation, a program that empowers children to help other children locally and around the world.
SAVE MART
John Romine, from Save Mart #46 in Angels Camp, chose The Resource Connection, which offers an array of family, nutrition, and prevention services for Amador and Calaveras Counties.
LUCKY
Randy Sentachi, from Lucky #707 in Daly City, chose the Dragon Boat Association, which fosters the growth and development of the sport of dragon boating in the San Francisco Bay Area.
