Save Mart has settled a San Joaquin County complaint filed last Wednesday by district attorneys from several counties over the handling and recordkeeping of retail hazardous waste. The case was not related to any fresh grocery products or any items that were sold to our customers, nor were there any injuries suffered by even a single one of our customers.
The settlement is the result of constructive, cooperative negotiations with Supervising Deputy District Attorney David Irey of San Joaquin County and district attorneys from other counties. We are pleased that the district attorneys have recognized the efforts and commitment of Save Mart to on-going environmental compliance, and that the case has been expeditiously resolved.
