The newly renovated Lucky California, located on 815 Marina Village Pkwy in Alameda,  teamed up with the Golden State Warriors and hosted the Shop and Learn presented by Lucky California.!

With the help of 18 Reasons, a local non profit that helps low-income families on maintaining a healthy budget, Shop and Learn aims to educate families on budgeting and making healthy food choices while  grocery shopping.

Five Bay Area families were won the opportunity to meet and shop with Warriors players. Power forwards Jordan Bell and Jonas Jerebko along with Asst. Coach Bruce Fraser, Warriors Ambassador Adonal Foyle and U.S. Olympian Ruthie Bolton shopped alongside families to buy fruits and vegetables on a budget, compare unity prices, read food labels and find whole grains.

As a challenge, each family was asked to find a healthy meal that would feed a family of five under $20. At the end of the event, Lucky California presented each family with  a cooking toolkit complete with pots, pans healthy recipes as well as a $250 gift card!

Year long, Lucky California partners with local organizations like the Warriors to help give back to our communities. Lucky Supermarkets has been the official grocer of the Golden State Warriors for the past 12 seasons.
