In addition, Lucky is proud to continue its longstanding sponsorship of San Francisco’s legendary Chinese New Year parade taking place on Saturday, Feb. 4

“Each year, Lucky stores have the privilege of celebrating Lunar New Year traditions with our shoppers, throughout the neighborhoods we serve,” said Bobby McDowell, vice president of store operations, Lucky California. “We are honored to continue our sponsorship of the renowned San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade and proud to be a part of this vibrant community.”

To commemorate the Year of the Rabbit celebration, Lucky stores throughout the Bay Area are offering a host of traditional food items and floral decorations to help shoppers celebrate the New Year with loved ones. Lucky will also pay homage to the Kitchen God with a dazzling float presented in the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade on Saturday, Feb. 4.

San Francisco’s Lucky store, located on 1515 Sloat Blvd., is showcasing a magnificent, life-sized Rabbit statue designed by local artist, Alli Lowe. As the Lunar New Year is a special time for families to come together and celebrate by sharing a meal of the freshest, most delicious foods, Lucky honors this long-held tradition with the rabbit sculpture, Maanmaansik Rabbit – meaning savoring goodness. The New Year Rabbit brings peace, good luck and abundance to all who greet her. After the display period, the statue will be auctioned off with net proceeds benefiting local community non-profits.
