May 1, 2019 – Instacart, a North American leader in online groceries, and Lucky Supermarkets have announced a new partnership, adding same-day delivery services from 21 stores across the San Francisco Bay Area as of April 10th.

“We’re proud to partner with Lucky and Lucky California stores to bring their loyal shoppers in the Bay Area a new way to have their groceries and everyday essentials delivered to their door, in as fast as an hour,” said Sarah Mastrorocco, Vice President of Business Development for Instacart. “Lucky is a beloved California grocer and an exciting addition to Instacart’s marketplace of more than 300 national, regional and local retailers that offer busy people and families a way to have the groceries they need delivered from the retailers they love.”

Customers will shop online at the same prices available in stores and can add their Lucky You Rewards number to earn points every time they shop via Instacart. Same day delivery is now available to Lucky and Lucky California shoppers in San Francisco and surrounding areas including Castro Valley, Concord, Danville, Dublin, El Cerrito, Foster City, Livermore, Millbrae, Milpitas, Pleasanton, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Jose, San Ramon, Sunnyvale and Vacaville. More locations will come online later this year.

“People in the Bay Area lead especially busy lives. We are excited to offer the Instacart online shopping and home delivery service as an additional and easy point of access to the great values found in our Lucky and Lucky California retail locations. Many of our stores are newly upgraded to reflect an enhanced selection of globally inspired flavors, meal ideas and an abundant selection of the freshest local produce, meat and seafood,” expressed Barbara Walker, Chief Marketing Officer for The Save Mart Companies.

Lucky and Lucky California shoppers across the Bay Area can go online to or open the Instacart app on their mobile device, select their city and store, and then begin adding groceries to their Instacart grocery cart at same as in-store prices. Customers can then choose a delivery window within one hour or up to five days in advance before checking out. An Instacart personal shopper will pick, pack and deliver the order to the customer in the designated time frame.

For orders of $35 or more, the delivery fee is just $3.99. With an Instacart Express membership for $9.99/month or an annual fee of $99, customers get unlimited, free delivery on all orders over $35. First-time customers of Lucky Supermarkets on Instacart can enter the code Lucky20 at checkout for $20 off their first order of $35 or more.
