Grocer and Blue Shield Provide Public with FREE Health Fair

Lucky Supermarkets, in collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA), its Go Red for Women movement and Blue Shield of California, has committed to raising awareness and providing education about the risks of heart disease, the nation’s leading cause of death among women. Tomorrow at the Fulton Street Lucky store in San Francisco, an on-site Summit Health nurse from the Blue Shield store located within the Lucky’s will administer screenings consisting of: body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, and cholesterol.  Also available are free consultations with a Lucky Pharmacist.  Everyone screened will receive a bag of heart healthy samples and BEAT branded items.  The Lucky prize wheel will offer chances to win an iPod, iTunes cards, and more.  Blue Shield will host a raffle with yoga mats, $20 off coupon towards a future wellness screening, and a 3-day gym pass to the local YMCA.  More information on the year-long BEAT campaign may be found by visiting the grocer’s website at http://luckysupermarkets.com//beat.
