Local schools, an animal shelter and services for the homeless came out big winners in the first year of Shares powered by eScrip, The Save Mart Companies’ signature charitable program. Shoppers who are enrolled can designate up to 3% of purchases to local schools or non-profits. The inaugural year resulted in $2.075 million in donations, benefitting 10,744 schools and non-profits throughout California and Northern Nevada.

In April 2016, the Company moved to a cardless, online system that enables both customers and non-profits to track donations that come as a result of supporters shopping at any Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx store. The following are the Top Five locally-based, one location earners company-wide April 2016-March 2017:
