Save Mart stores throughout the Reno, Carson City, Sparks, and Truckee cities teamed up with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) to volunteer at their semi-annual Truckee River Cleanup Day.
Save Mart Store Managers and helpers volunteered at Bartley Ranch where they donated food and served close to 400 volunteers lunch after the clean up! The lunch consisted of chicken breast, hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers!
Since 2004, KTMB has organized the Truckee River Cleanup Day where volunteers come together to keep our Truckee River clean and pristine for all to enjoy. Cleanup and beautification project span from Verdi to Lockwood, and also include river tributaries. Projects include storm-drain stenciling, litter pickup, graffiti removal, in-the-river trash removal (by kayakers and flyfishers), weed pulling and park beautification projects.
KTMB’s next Truckee River Cleanup Day will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019. KTMB hosts a volunteer appreciation picnic after the cleanup to thank volunteers for their efforts with barbecue, beer (21 and older, of course) and prizes.
