PBS Reno, formally know as KNPB, hosted their annual live Telethon to help raise funds for various events and programming. Reno Save Mart store managers came together and volunteered, manning the phone lines and taking the community’s pledges.
Save Mart is committed to the Reno community. In addition to adopting local schools and sponsoring youth sports teams, last year The Save Mart Companies C.A.R.E.S. Foundation awarded PBS Reno a $7,500 grant for their Martha Speaks program. Martha Speaks is a reading program ran by PBS Reno that focuses on early childhood reading skills. Children learn new vocabulary words as they participate in a variety of writing, reading and other activities in conjunction with the show.
