The Save Mart Companies celebrated their annual Management Appreciation Gala this past weekend were Jerald Smith, Stockton Save Mart Store Manager located on Pacific Ave., was named the 2018 Nicolas J. Tocco Outstanding Store Manager of the Year.
Jerald began with Save Mart as Head Clerk in 2005 and knew immediately that he loved the industry. In 2015, Jerald was a part of the group that formed the World Class Service project and spent the majority of that year on the road to provide training for and implement this initiative in every Save Mart store in the company. After returning to the stores, Jerald was quickly promoted to Store Manager.
The Outstanding Manager of the Year award was created in honor of the late Nicholas J. Tocco, co-founder of The Save Mart Companies. Nominees for the award must meet the company’s standards for store performance, customer service, and community involvement. The winner receives an etched blown glass vase, travel certificate, and cash. Runners up receive a cash award, and all nominees receive a framed certificate.
